Janine Paladin Pilates

Combining her skills and experience as both a certified Pilates instructor and qualified Biokineticist, Janine Paladin has the unique ability to offer her clients highly effective fitness classes and carefully curated rehabilitation programmes, to help them reach their goals.

Now situated at FITPOD, Janine has a special interest in injury prevention and management and believes that correct form is the key to both.

Originally from Johannesburg, Janine danced professionally as a member of the State Theatre Ballet Company of South Africa in Pretoria. She was also one of the first South African candidates to qualify as a Stott Pilates instructor in 2001.

“Pilates was relatively unknown in South Africa at the time, but I had been exposed to it and seen the incredible benefits through dancing and my overseas travels,” she explains.

Her decision to study Biokinetics at the University of Port Elizabeth was driven by Janine’s own lived experiences and the injuries she suffered as a professional ballet dancer. “I studied dancing at a private school, and there was nothing available to us for injury prevention or rehabilitation.”

Over the years, Janine and her family have lived in various parts of South Africa and overseas. Throughout this time, she has owned and run successful Biokinetics and Pilates practices in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

After the family was presented with a work opportunity in Abu Dhabi, they relocated and spent a year there before choosing to settle in Ballito in January 2024.

Janine offers her specialised services at FITPOD through group mat classes once a week and private one-on-one sessions. She combines the tools and concepts she has acquired from Pilates and Biokinetics over the years to implement programmes to suit her client’s needs. Janine is experienced in working with special populations and managing various conditions, including pregnancy.

The fully equipped Pilates studio at FITPOD allows Janine to customise her classes and sessions for her rehabilitation patients to help them build strength, enhance mobility and promote long-term wellness.
Janine’s group mat classes are on Tuesdays at 07.30 am and she offers one-on-one rehabilitation sessions.
